DJ Ridym - Rare Soul Mix 17

Jazz Funk is the order of the day for my Rare Soul Mix number 17 and what a bumper selection we have here for you this week!

Family of Eve with their jazz funk nugget Please Be Truthful is an absolute scorcher I truly never get tired of hearing this one. Fat Larry's TS Monk special is yet another diamond on this mix that's well worth checking out. We've got Cameo, Harvey Mason, Mighty Ryeders plus two from my desert island disc selection.
The first of the two is All Spice's Slipped Away which, if you're planning to get away somewhere nice and exotic just seems to get you there before you've even left! The second is an exquisite version of Where Were You When I Needed You with those haunting backing vocals set against the magical xylophone skills of Lionel Hampton just does it for me every time.

As always I hope you enjoy this one as much I enjoyed putting it together. Look out for Grizz Soul and SoulnRnB next. Peace

DJ Ridym - Brit Funk & Rare Groove 5

Hello mix fans and welcome to Brit Funk & Rare Groove 5. The weather is certainly heating up with a high of 27 degrees this week so I think its that time to drop the convertible roof and windows and turn up the volume with some new mixes.
This Brit Funk mix features a rework of Matt Bianco's Half A Minute blessed with the touch of Joey Negro and the Sunburst band. Beverlei Brown gives us her version of Canadian disco queen France Joli's Gonna Get Over You. I've also included the unmistakable voice of mancunian songstress Lisa Stansfield and the track titled Big Thing from her early days with band Blue Zone before she became famous and blew us away with her 90's monster All Around The World.

There's more UK old school flavours from the Funk Masters and their party anthem It's Over with the fabulous Juliet Roberts on vocals, Second Image, Intrigue, Direct Drive and Power Line so crank it up and let it move you Brit Funk is and will always be an institution to be proud of!

Enjoy the sun mix fans and I'll see you soon. One Love
