DJ Ridym - RnB Sessions 20

This weeks RnB Session features some new works from Jazz funk outfit Jazzanova with the excellent rework of Common's Go! and Marshmellows Soulpower. The RnB scene is trully represented with the best of UK talent by way of upcoming artists Ella Mai, Cleo Sol, Mahailia and Radiant Children. There's one from colab outfit Jericho Jackson which is essentially Elzhi of Slum Village linking up with producer Khrysis who is known for his previous work with Justus League and Little Brother. I'm definitely picking up the Little Brother vibe from this track.

We got some Neo Soul from New Yorker Joanna Teters and one from the talented modern day P-Funker herself, Ms Geogia Anne Muldrow.

#TheSoulMixtape Barry White and Friends

Featuring Barry white compositions, productions and songs of his own, this mix is a tribute to the great man. He talks about his life and career and the mix pulls out some of his lesser known tunes as well as productions for others including the awesome Love Unlimited.

Yes, Barry had a pop career with many big hits, but he was also a great writer and arranger and this mix also focus' on that side of the artist. Hoping those that always loved Barry enjoy, and those who are newer to him find out what a great soul man he was.

Stay tuned for Grizz and Ridym, ill be back pronto.

DJ Grizz- Rick James Mix

Today we have a musical tribute to a true 'character' of Funk and Soul music... Mr Rick James. A native of Buffalo, New York state he certainly led a full 'eventful' life, influencing Prince, as well putting out some great music in the 70's and 80's on the Motown roster before his early demise in 2004. Here's some of the best of Rick...
We start with the dancefloor hit Big Time, there's one of many collaborations with his protegee 'Lady T' Teena Marie, the massively sampled Superfreak features, we've Ricks take on the Norman Connors track Starship and end on his 'tribute' to smoking weed with the track Mary Jane... plus RJ Punk Funk to enjoy.
Keep if funky Mixtapers.
