DJ Grizz- Kool and the Gang

Another Soul Super-group features today.... 70's and 80's, million sellers- Kool and the Gang! From their early 70's origins as a hard funk/jazz band through to their later Disco/Pop-Soul sound they are loved by discerning crate diggers and commercial pop lovers alike. Here's a selection of mainly their early funky stuff and a smattering of some late 70's early 80's disco party grooves!

We start in funk mode with Jungle Boogie, there's another funk classic with Funky Stuff (they opened with this when I saw them at Finsbury Park Rainbow around 1980), we've Light of The Worlds- the track a certain Britfunk band named themselves after, we get into disco mode with Steppin' Out and Ladies Night and end on a mellow Jazz-Funk anthem in Summer Madness.

Catch you soon Mixtapers!
