SoulNRnB Street Sounds Sessions 76
Here we go with Part 2 of "New Music March" with the latest Street Sounds.
We've Championed Mark De-Clive Lowe on the blog quite a bit, and this week Sy Smith released her MdCL produced LP "Fast and Curious" (Worth a purchase!), so nows a good time to feature his excellent Jazz Version of Aaliyah's "More than a Woman" featuring Nia Andrews on vocals. One of my tunes of the year so far for sure.
Theres great stuff from Phony PPl with a joint that musically takes me back to early eighties Brit funk, a stepper from Personal Life, new artist Colie Williams with the message song "Black Love" plus new Raheem Devaughn.
And then theres the cover star. Truth be told, I miss the Instant Vintage/Ray Ray Raphael Saadiq, so these new unreleased tunes from an LP he was goig to record pre-Vintage are a godsend. Another unreleased tune in a future mix, in the meantime check out "They dont know you" featuring Common and Ledisi!
Grizz taking you back in the future (Monday to be exact!), and we will have SSSS 77 here next week.
