SoulNRnB's Soulful House TWO

Lets continue this soulful divertion, from Lovers to House.

Reasons why this House compilation is Soulful:

1) It has vocals from Brit-Soul legends Don-E and Shaun Escofferey.
2) It has tunes from Blaze, DJ Spinna and The Sunburst Band.
3) There are things like guitar solo's and horns and real bass playing.
4) I said so.

Nuff said beside tracklist in comments.

SoulNRnB & Gimmesomesoulfood Present: Urban Soul 3

Its been a while since we had one of these, but weve got together with that great blog "Soul Food Hungry?" to produce a selection of modern soul and RnB tunes.

A real great selection here, from an unreleased tune by a group I really love called Aaries (Been trying to track down that unreleased CD for years), a rare tune from Joe, Illmatics great Remix of an En Vouge tune, all finished off with a little SoulNRnB mesh (a la The Soul Mixtape) of a Yazarah tune and the Salaam Remi remix of ABC by the Jackson 5.

Again, big thanks to Gimmesomesoulfood for sharing, and we really hope you like! It wouldnt go amis for a few thanks in the comments too! ;)

SoulNRnB Presents Nu-Soul Volume 6

After those detours to South America with Grizz, and to the Deep/Soulful house side of things with me, were back to the ongoing series of new tunes for you to sample.

We didnt post any Michael Jackson material after his death, and I was tempted to put some covers versions up, but other blogs really covered his passing better than we could. So as a compromise, Ie put the full version of one of his unreleased tunes on this compilation.

Other tracks of note are an absolutely corking tune from Anthony Hamilton featuring Phonte, real class......as well as Phonte's right hand man Nicolay with a left field gem.

With added quality from Maxwell with a great remix of his new single, and Joe with Chico Debarge, youve got a great sampler of whats going on at the moment. Hopefully that will get you to investigate these artists discographies.

DJ Grizz- Latin Flavours Mix

Following on from Mr Soulnrnb's detour up the House route I'm travelling South of the border for my latest mix (for the benefit of my fellow East Londoners- that's Latin America by the way, not through the Blackwall Tunnel).

Loadsa old-time Latin Jazz 'n' Funk just perfect for the summer, should we ever get one in the UK.....

SoulNRNB's Soulful House ONE

In the spirit of the DISCO JAZZ compilation posted previously, and the Bah Samba post, I thought I would compile some lesser known tracks in a Soulful House Vibe.

Music snobs, of which I include myself, have dismissed house music in the past as throwaway rubbish, but that has really changed. Masters at Work, Blaze, Mark de Clive Lowe, Reel People, The Sunburst Band..... all these great artists and bands have really shown that the House scene can provide all us old time Jazz Funkers with what they have been missing.

So, my advice: Get past the long intro's that are there for the DJ's mixing at the clubs. Get past the fact that your listening to a drum machine.

And enjoy some soulful, jazzy and funky house music. Great vocals, nice instrumentation, great vibes for the car in the summer heat!

Open your ears people!
