SoulNRnB's Street Sounds Sessions 137

Second Street Sounds mix of the year features another great soulman on the Cover, Rahsaan Patterson. The track featured on the mix isn't new, in fact its a track he recorded with Questlove and the Roots back in the day that never got a release. He's just put it on the Interweb from tape so we can all check out how great it is, like an Al Green throwback.

As well as that, there's some great new music from Jeff Bradshaw feat. Tweet & Eric Roberson (Class all the way); A track from the brand new Rebirth LP "Being thru the eyes of a child" that you all need to pick up. I must have convinced you by now!; Plus another fine track from the new Conya Doss LP.

As for independents, there's a great organic soulful tune from Stone Mecca called "Dream Maker"; Plus a nice track from  Aaron Parnell Brown called "Just Leave" that suggests some quality from his forthcoming LP to be released in the spring.

!2 tracks in all, check them out! Grizz returns at the weekend, and Ill be tip toeing into his territory next week with some Valentines Day Soul for you all. Don't tell him.

Welcome back for another shot of the good old stuff! We've treasures from the 60's, 70's and 80's so get your 2 step on and head nodding for Soul Niceness 86.

We kick off with a Lenny Williams corker, there's a Jazz-Soul nugget from bassist Alphonso Johnson (the man responsible for the mad bass-line on Jeffrey Osborne's 'Stay with me tonight'), some nice 2-step from the Chilites, a 60's nugget from the Marvelettes, and we end with some 80's goodness from Shot and Donald Byrd respectively.

For those of you in love (or just lust) I've a loved up pre-Valentines mix next Sunday. Mr S will keep you grooving until then from midweek.
