Back once again with the latest volume of Old Skool 80's which brings you your latest fix of 80's tunes to make my favourites list. This week we have UK band Paradise and the late king of RnB, Pop, Soul and as many genre's as you can throw out there Mr Jackson kicking off the mix and then a Joyce Sims track that has producer Mantronik all over it followed by the next two tracks from Shannon and Krystol with a similar feel to it.
UK artist Princess who along with Jackie Graham managed to break into the UK pop charts back then with their own RnB/pop sound at a time when it was quite difficult to cross over and bridge that gap in the industry so props to them.
Real to Reel with a funny line at the beginning of the track about a girl being like an Orangutan or a linebacker I don't know which one's worse?! Yes it's easily missed, I must have heard that track a thousand times but never really checked what was said right at the beginning compared to say the jive talking at the start of Tom Browne's Jamaican funk which everyone recites whenever it's played. Strange! Anyway I finish off with Surface and Tashan as a good match and a fitting sign off to this 80's mix.
Take care until next time and look out for more from DJ Grizz and SoulnRnB. Peace.
