SoulNRnB's Street Sounds Sessions 109

A great Street Sounds mix this week, featuring some big names from the 90's and 00's making comebacks including cover star Amel Larrieux who has an excellent new track out called "Afraid"; Donell Jones returns with some downtempo RnB in the shape of "Beautiful"; Ex Destiny's Child Michelle Williams return with a Gospel tune. Bit different from Kelly Rowland's naughty lyrics, and speaking of her, she's on here with the bonus track of her Lackluster LP which is better than anything on it and features man of the moment, Pharrell.

The independents are represented by ex Family Stand-er Sandra St. Victor who returns with a Mark De Clive Lowe production in "I prefer"; Two great tunes from Soul Papers and Soul of the Earth, the latter featuring man of the moment, Omar.

And that's not even it......Soia.....India Arie......What you waiting for? Download!!

Cover star of Street Sounds 108, Eric Lau, has finally released his new LP, and its great stuff as you would know from our mixes, so support!

Grizz here with an 80's selection at the weekend, I will be back next week. But before I go, here's a picture of Amel Larrieux I never thought i'd see. Her prom picture! Guess who her date is.......

SoulNRnB's Crate Digging

First in a series of nuggets from the 70's and 80's, all found whilst digging in crates back in the day in second hand shops, buying really expensive "only" copies, or dodgy white labels.

Ive blown the dust off some great tunes that should have soul/funk/jazz aficionado's geeking out.I'm warming you up with part one, cause part two has even rarer tunes. So give it a listen, go back to another time musically, and lets see what our own connoisseur Grizz thinks of this!

Hes back at the weekend, tracklist in comments.

Top tunes from cover star Eric Lau, Remix extrodinaire IAMNOBODI, and a great Jazzy Jeff/James Poyser remix of Moonchild's "Be Free". Then there's new artists like Timotha Lanae, 74 Miles away and Such to bring you some soul, Nu Jazz and Neo Soul respectively.

As always open your mind and take a listen, then check out these artists Bandcamp and Soundcloud pages. Well worth it. If you guys and gals havent picked up the new Omar and Quadron releases this week then what are you waiting for? Real quality.

SoulNRnB's Gems: The 70's Part 2

Time for another edition of my Gems series.

The last edition of our 70's Gems mix was really popular and so should this one be if the quality of the tunes are anything to go by.

Great tunes from B.Baker & Chocolate Co, Lillian Hale, Vivian Reed and Basic Black & Pearl share the tracklist and if youve not heard most of these tunes, your in for a treat.

Grizz returns at the weekend just in time for me to recover from these post holiday blues. Hopefully back next week with something new for you all!
