After our little foray
into promoting the Mixcloud Awards (still time to vote) we are back into
familier territory with more wicked Rare Groove and Soul.... its Soul
Niceness volume 96!
We kick off with an early Pointer
Sisters gem, we've the Lou Courtney original version of a tune better
known by Norman Connors, some marvellous Maze, theres bluesy Soul from
Johnny Guitar Watson, and we end with JB giving up some mid tempo Funk
plus more to get your Soul teeth into.
Some great music on the latest Street Sounds Sessions mix including cover girl Teedra Moses who teams up with Anthony Hamilton for "The One"; Musiq Soulchild releases new music under the guise of Purple Wondaluv and we feature the soulful "Faith Your Fears"; Jill Scott's new LP is out imminently and we have "Closure" as our opener ironically; The Internet return with some great music including the featured track "Under Control".
Add to that some Emily King, and independent music from Dornik and Rashad and you have the makings of a great feature for all thats new and soulful currently.
A chance to carry on what
Mr SoulNRnB started on the blog last week and post the 'Grizz'
selection to mark the Mixcloud Radio Awards with Part 2.
A 'Magnificent Ten' of tunes from all corners of my collection!
Includes 80's Soul nuggets from Harvey Mason, Jazz Funk from Pat Longo
and 'Byrd', new Funk from Nicole Willis, a couple of Rare Groove anthems
from Dynasty and LA Boppers, and a Reggae cover and some mellow magic
to top it all off... to name but a few.

the massive range of great stuff all the Mixcloud contributors bring
every week- whatever musical style floats your boat!

jazz-soul Bacharach goodness, Roy Ayres keeps the lyrics simple,

Thunder and lightning keeping London awake last night so lets kick up a blurry eyed Soul storm of our own... its Soul Niceness 95!

We start on a seriously funky 1978 instrumental from Instant Funk , there's a Shalamar favourite, Eddie Robinson uplifts us, a slow boiler from Slave, a nice little LP track from Fat Larry, and we top it off with Side Effects take on the Crusaders classic (although they both came out the same year -'76) plus more!
Hope its hot where you are. SoulnRnB up a few days... catch u soon!
Here's the latest edition of our Street Sounds Sessions mixes, this one featuring the return of Janet Jackson (Once again produced by long term producers/mentors Jam & Lewis) and her brand new single "No Sleeeep"; The featured Jill Scott tune "I adore you" is not brand new, but an archive track featured on her BEST OF comp on Hidden Beach; There's the return of Thundercat with a great tune from his new EP called "Them Changes" that samples the Isley's; Diggs Duke return's with new music and we feature the Jazzy "We Grieve".
Plus more from the likes of Nicolay of The Foreign Exchange, its a great way to catch up with all thats new and soulful.
